- Palma Pictures was founded in 1993; the company quickly attracted a stream of advertising agencies and film companies, and in 2000, we moved to a purpose-built studio complex in Marratxí, Mallorca.
- Today, Palma Pictures continues to guarantee high-quality content capture, providing end-to-end production service across all formats. Our headquarters in Mallorca is home to our production complex and studio (supported by clean energy from solar panels) and we offer production solutions across mainland Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, and Portugal. With offices in Barcelona, Lisbon, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, plus team members in London and New York, we’re always within reach – no matter where your project takes flight.
- We pride ourselves on delivering excellent production services with a personal touch. Our team and our capabilities have grown; the boutique atmosphere and bespoke, personalised service, are still the core of our approach.
We have over 60 full-time staff drawn from over 10 different countries, all of whom speak English and Spanish (plus a range of different languages, including: Portuguese, French, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Catalan) and we regularly work with expert freelancers across Spain and Portugal. We are proud of our diverse team, who are all experts in their varied fields. We’re passionate about collaborating across continents to run projects smoothly, bringing creative visions to life.
- We’re proud to have maintained European certifications of EMAS and ISO 14001 since 2011. As a member of SEDEX, we’re committed to promoting ethical and responsible practices in all aspects of our business.
- Some examples of how we ensure our work is as planet-friendly as possible:
- Our production complex has over 100 solar panels, which were installed in 2017; in 2018, we ran an entire shoot purely on solar energy.
- We run an environmental impact study for each project. This data is used to evaluate each project and input into our company environmental impact audit.
- We adhere to strong recycling procedures in the office, on the set, and in the catering areas.
- Wardrobe and art department prioritise rental over purchase. At the end of the project, we donate items so they can be reused.
- We carry out food collections and donations for associations or NGOs, such as ‘Mallorca sense fam’.
- We hold an annual environmental day, in which all our staff go into the local community to help out on an environmental project.
One of our goals was to replace diesel generators with electric generators that are not dependent on fossil fuels. Thanks to the subsidy provided by the Fundació Mallorca Turisme Consell de Mallorca for Green Film, we have been able to acquire 4 electric generators, two x 6Kw and two x 1Kw, which are recharged in our facilities by solar panels. With them, we provide sustainable energy in any location to our cameras, monitors, spotlights, computers, etc.
This reduces our GHG emissions into the atmosphere, and in turn, reduces our carbon footprint.
Teamwork is at the heart of what we do and we have developed clear and efficient processes over the years so that our clients will always get a fantastic Palma Pictures’ experience, whilst never taking our eyes off the bottom line.
Our values of fresh, generous, clear and smart can be perceived in everything we do.
We are committed to ensure equality and promote diversity as we believe that these are the pillars of a healthy and productive workplace. We treat everyone with respect and consideration regardless of their gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes them unique so that they may feel supported and valued to produce their best work.
We believe that financial transparency is key.
That’s why we are audited annually by Ernst & Young and subsequently post our results in the public domain for all to see.
