Sustainability and the environment

We are proud of our track record of sustainability in film-making and we have been EMAS and ISO 14001 certified since 2011, acknowledging our efforts in protecting and maintaining our local environment. We are also a member of SEDEX, a non-profit organisation dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains.

Initiatives

Sun-powered shoots: In 2017 we installed over 100 solar panels to the roof of our studio complex and in early 2018 we powered our first entire studio shoot using just the solar energy collected by our panels.

Reducing plastic waste: For years we have been gifting a re-usable water bottle to all new crew and incoming clients in an effort to drastically reduce consumption of plastic water bottles.

Operación Kilo: Led by our Head of Reception Jenni Sykes, we have collected and delivered over 7,000kg of food donated by our staff, freelancers and local suppliers since we started participating with this excellent charity back in 2012. The charity then distributes the food and other essentials to those in need here on the island. In 2018 Palma Pictures was recognised with an award by a major charitable organisation, Mallorca Sense Fam, for our long-term contribution to this initiative.

In 2018 our team was lucky enough to be invited to the ASPACE Centre Mallorca for children and adults with cerebral palsy. 25 volunteers devoted a day to support sports and theatre workshops and lend a hand maintaining the beautiful gardens on the site.

We operate in a transparent, respectful way with our clients, our staff and our environment. We want all our team members to work together with initiative, customer centricity and be proactive rather than needing to be directed.

Over the past few years we have expanded our internship schemes, providing opportunities for young talent to gain the work experience necessary to start a career in film and advertising.
