A stand-out year for longform. We worked on a host of TV and Film projects with incredible originators, renowned talent and expert technicians from across the globe.
They say it really is the new ‘Golden Age of Television’. Spain’s diverse and cinematic locations are attracting high-end production houses such as Amazon Prime, BBC, ITV Studios and Netflix. Some of the series we worked on have yet to be released but here is just a few of the amazing projects we have proudly collaborated on over the past year:
Recent TV & Film Work
MotherFatherSon is an original thriller, created by Tom Rob Smith, produced by BBC Studios for BBC2.
Richard Gere, in his first major TV role in his career, stars as media mogul Max, a US-born man who finds himself at the heart of British politics, and able to wield considerable power as the owner of various television stations and newspapers. Max’s aristocratic ex-wife Kathryn works at a homeless shelter having been exiled from the family, while their struggling son Caden begins to crack under pressure as an editor for one of his father’s newspapers. Catastrophic events force the family back together, and they begin to work through their issues.
Filming took place in and around Sevilla in Andalucia.
Living the Dream
It was a pleasure to work with the team from Big Talk Productions during the summer of 2018 on Living The Dream Series 2 for Sky 1 in the UK.
Asked if we could find locations that could match Florida, we soon found a hub for the production just outside of Malaga in South Spain. We shot six episodes in 13 weeks of filming.
Created by Mick Ford and starring Philip Glenister. The Pembertons decide it’s time to leave rainy England and move to the sunshine state of Florida. Dad Mal has bought an RV Park with plans for a booming family-run business, but it soon turns out that they are not going to be living the dream they hoped. Before they’ve even settled in, Mal discovers that the park is home to a group of eccentric residents who are not exactly thrilled to meet their new owners. Jen, the mum, has to learn how to survive American suburbia and the kids have to navigate a US high school.
With culture clashes aplenty, life in Britain soon seems even further away than they’d thought it would. But with the support of each other and their crazy new friends, they begin to learn how to live the American dream.
Hanna is a conspiracy thriller written by David Farr (The Night Manager), co-produced by NBCUniversal, Working Title Television and Amazon Studios.
Both a high-concept thriller and coming-of-age drama, Hanna follows the journey of a young girl raised in the forest, as she evades pursuit by the CIA and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. Starring Esme Creed-Miles, Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman.
Our involvement saw us shoot with the team in the South of Spain and, in a first for the company, we provided production services in Morocco.
Love Island involves a group of contestants, living in isolation from the outside world in a villa in Mallorca, constantly under video surveillance.
To survive in the villa the Islanders must be coupled up with another Islander, whether it be for love, friendship or money, as the overall winning couple receives 50,000 Pounds (Euros / AUS Dollars).
In 2018 we supported three versions of the hit Show, broadcast on ITV2 in the UK, RTL2 in Germany and Channel 9 in Australia.
The UK Show was the most watched Show ever on ITV2 and the Series opener received the highest ratings on a digital TV programme since the 2012 Summer Olympics. The average viewers for the Series was 3.96m across the run, up 1.44m on the previous year.
The UK Show won a BAFTA Award in the Reality & Constructed Factual Category.
