Remember us talking earlier in the year about how excited we were to be asked by Smuggler to help them shoot a series of cinema commercials for Captain Morgan? Well, the first one has been released and everyone who was involved with the project is delighted with how it turned out. See the You Tube video below – Mallorca plays an amazing backdrop to this action-packed swashbuckler of a film.

Wiggo loves Super League & Mallorca

We’re quite used to working with sporting superstars here at Palma Pictures but there was a definite excitement in the air when we got to work with Sir Bradley Wiggins, winner of the 2012 Tour de France.

He, and rugby league’s ‘Man of Steel’, Sam Tomkins, were with us on the first day of this 2 day shoot for Sky Sports, an ident for the start of the new Super League season in the UK (that’s the tough sport of rugby league for those not in the know)

Barcelona – our favourite big city

The only thing we love more than making great content for our clients, is making fantastic content for ourselves. If you’ve been following our Barcelona blog then you already know we recently took the keys to our new production office in Barcelona, our favourite big city, and to coincide with this significant event we produced a film to let people know that Palma Pictures has arrived in Barcelona.

Little Fish Films & Palma Pictures

We recently did a shoot with a UK production company, Little Fish Films.

Gus Filgate was the director for the one day shoot which took place on our rather lovely sun trap of a roof terrace and in the studio.

Some what unusually, Alice Santana, the Palma Pictures Head of Production, decided to get her hands dirty and produced the shoot… and it still went really well!

From New York to Mallorca, Logan shoot on the Rock

At Palma Pictures we’re always excited about the arrival of new clients but we get really excited when they come from further afield. So there was a buzz in the Mediterranean Production Centre when New York based production company, Logan, asked us to provided production services for a shoot here in Mallorca.

The director on the shoot was Carlos Stevens whilst the DOP was Martin Ahlgren. The production took place both on location and at our studio over the course of 4 days. It was filmed using the Red One and 5D.

As we watched them board the plane back to the Big Apple it’s safe to reflect that everybody enjoyed the visit and we hope to welcome them back to the Rock.

Finally, well done to Richard Webb who was Line Producer on this shoot.

Bud Light commercial, filmed in Mallorca

We recently told you how much we enjoyed working with Industry Films to produce a new commercial.

Palma Pictures PHOTO Shoot in Madrid

Palma Pictures PHOTO recently went to Madrid to provide photographic production services for a UK client, Big Communications Group.

The photographer on the shoot was Matt Hind (we love working with him) and he was really impressed with the locations offered by Madrid. We shot in Fuenlabrada which is an industrial area, then we headed Downtown (Azca, Cuatro Caminos, Mostenses and Teatro Maria Guerrero) and then on to Carabanchel before finishing the final day of the shoot in Mendez Alvaro.

Industry Films Shoot in Mallorca

Palma Pictures were excited last week to provide productions services to Canadian production company Industry Films.

The 2 day shoot took place on location in the Port of Palma and required the use of one of our Alexa cameras and a lot of steadicam work.

The director for the shoot was Jonathan Bensimon who was lovely (as was producer Trudy Turner), you can watch one of his short films, Tokyo Glow, by clicking here.

The cast were sourced entirely from Mallorca, some of whom wore clothes specially designed by our Wardrobe department. The shoot also made full use of the creative talents of our Art Department.

We really enjoyed working with Industry Films and they are very welcome to return anytime! They also said that all the crew were brilliant which of course made us very happy.
